Stu O'Neill
He / Him
Chief Financial Officer
Stu hails from the concrete jungles of the D.C. suburbs. Raised during the height of the Reagan era exposed him first hand to the injustices of runaway capitalism and U.S. imperialism. Family stories of surviving the pogroms of Russia and organizing against the Vietnam War instilled the power of collective action in Stu from a very young age.
Stu moved to southern Oregon in 1995 and quickly joined a community of activists fighting to defend the last remaining ancient forests in the Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion. Since then, Stu has dedicated himself to being a force for transformation. He has worked on the frontlines of direct action campaigns in the forests and on the streets, with nonprofit organizations focused on food systems and social and environmental justice, and with neighbors and community members delivering mutual aid disaster relief from the Gulf Coast to the Rogue Valley.
Working at RFU stitches together many of the passions that have driven Stu for the past 30 years. He believes that growing, preparing, cooking, and sharing food with friends and family is revolutionary. He believes that breaking bread together can change the world and there is always room for one more at the table.
Stu loves spending time with his partner, daughter, and dog in the mountains, forests, and beaches of southern Oregon. He is an avid cyclist, trail runner, backpacker, and downhill skier. He loves to tinker in the garden and see live music with friends and family.
