Colleen Gibbs

She / Her

Production Coordinator

Colleen Gibbs grew up in a large family in Michigan who collected sweet stray dogs. She studied Biology at the University of Notre Dame, and taught high school sciences in American Samoa.

Returning to the midwest, Colleen supported Chicago’s HIV/AIDS community in a professional capacity for a decade before raising three kind-hearted children with her college sweetheart. Her lifelong love of dogs led her to become a dog (human) trainer to help people understand and bond more closely with their pups. In 2011, Colleen and her family moved to Ashland so their children could grow up surrounded by nature. She jumped in to deliver hot meals to our community when the Almeda Fire hit in 2020.

Colleen has been working with Rogue Food Unites ever since. She loves the joy, solidarity and thoughtfulness that the RFU team infuses into tackling the serious issue of disaster relief and food insecurity, and the collaboration with other amazing local service organizations. One of her favorite work roles is facilitating our weekly Neighbors Unite Farmers Markets, connecting with patrons and volunteers.
In her free time, Colleen loves evenings out with family and friends, hiking with her rescue stray German Shepherd, visiting her now grown kids, and eating meals someone else made.
