Amber Ferguson
She / Her
Executive Director/CEO
Amber Ferguson has dedicated her career to hospitality and efficiency. Born and raised in the Rogue Valley, Amber spent fifteen years in Portland working in food service and cultivating a reputation as a host and connoisseur of fine wine and excellent restaurants, having helped streamline service systems at some of Oregon’s top restaurants, including Beast, Toro Bravo and Grand Central Bakery. The desire to caretake and host led her into disaster recovery work. An opportunity to commune over food in times of crisis. Perhaps to be able to ease someone’s struggle or offer a glimmer of joy.
Amber is a co-founder and Executive Director of Rogue Food Unites, which started as a project to feed fire-affected people in southern Oregon after the Almeda & Obenchain fires of 2020, and which has grown to a multi-county organization working to eradicate food insecurity for tens of thousands people every year. Amber is passionate about heart centered work, and through her work at Rogue Food Unites, she has been able to feel more connected to her community. Amber lives in Ashland with her family and a menagerie of animals. She spends her free time tending to her home and her community of friends. In 2022, Amber also became certified as a death doula and conscious dying educator. Working to restore death to its sacred place in the beauty and celebration of life.
